Shot some yesterday, moved a few cams today, deer movement was slow just a few prego does and turks
on the trail cams.
Nice to get out in the woods for a few hours.

I feel like a caged tiger right now just pacing back and forth waiting for the gate to open so I can pounce on somthing!!!!
Seriously though I’ve been going through all my mental prep, got the cameras out, did some glassing, picked my spots I’m ready for aug 24th. I have a nice coues buck picked out for early season hopefully he will stay on his pattern. I notice the opener coincides with the full moon which always sucks here I’m AZ especial when it’s hot.

I can not wait 20 days till opening day here in Kentucky, most of the stands are hung.  I have been shooting my bow almost everyday and have washed all my hunting clothes.  Today I got the backpack out and load it up and made sure my knifes and rages where sharp.

Super pumped for the NY Oct 1st deer opener, but my bow season starts with an annual trip out west chasing bugeling bull elk.  Shooting the X-FORCE a ton every day, riding the bike, and doing the final logistical prep for OTC DYI hunt in southern Colorado.  The Dodge will be loaded and rolling in 8 1/2 days and counting.

i am new to the sport of whitetail deer hunting and starting out with a bow. i don’t have anyone to really help me try to figure out these wonderful creatures. my main question, what is the best way to tell the age of a buck just by looking at him from a distance. i figure this is a good starting point. thanks to anyone that can help.

I’m all set, our season starts the 22nd of Sept here in TN. Well guys just turned 65 the 8th so “this old guy uses a cross bow” (ha). Is that OK with you vertical guys? Finished setting the last 3 stands two weeks ago, have every conceivable wind direction covered this year! Do you think 17 stands and a shooting house are to many? Despite the drought conditions this season the trail cams show a good number of healthy deer. As of last weekend most still in velvet but two spikes were polished and coat turning dark gray already. We can take a turkey with a bow during deer archery season, so I’m hoping for a double header opening day this year. Have both on the wall but never on the same day. Have entered the SLAM, could use contacts for the gulf, mid-west and Fl. If you need a spot for one of my variety send me a note. TN 7 day big game non-resident is $175.00 “cheap” compared to my surrounding states, where they start at over well over $250.00 to $500.00+ for only 3 days (if you can get one). I don’t mind spending the $$$$$ but one needs a place to hunt. Please contact, Thanks all! If you like to fill the feezer, you can take 3 bucks (per season) AND 3 does a DAY! No shortage of deer down here. I never take that many, I’ll take 3 > 4 per season and donate to the folks that love venison “Hunt for the Hungry” and friends that don’t hunt etc. 30 yards SEND IT!
