I harvested a buck a few years back in Ware county Georgia. My question is will that buck be in the Seminole Whitetail sub group? Thanks Rawhide-Hunting.

Found the buck I was after dead today

My son and I went today and moved a couple of stands around. On our way to re locate the second stand we find the buck I was after dead. We called this buck crap claw due to the left rack just being a crap claw and the other side has 4 tines. He was wide and was something differnt, as he showed up during the peak of the rut. I had been hunting him hard on the last day of rifle season I allowed my wifes cousin to hunt with me. I bow hunt but he was wanting to shot a deer for the meat. I had told him to come out with me and shot a doe or two for his family and ther freezer. He shot twice that day taking a doe at first light then shooting at the crap claw buck. He adviced me that day he had missed the buck and that he had looked around for the deer and blood with no luck. I had a funny feeling but belived him. This is the second time in 4 years I have allowed someone to come shot a doe and they take one of the bucks I after or waiting for to get of age. I know it is my fault for allowing this so from now on I will shot a deer for them and they can meet me to get it. This way I save my bucks and they save a little money on tags and such. I learned of Whitetail Slam through their magazine, in the winter 2012 issue page 19, it says Whitetail Slam recognizes slams that have been taken with a rifle, bow, crossbow or muzzleloader. I was wondering why it doesn’t recognize those taken with a shotgun or a pistol.

Frustrating year

Hi folks,
I must say this has been a frustrating year. I had a cow tag during the NH moose hunt and all I saw were Bulls. My deer hunt has been equally as impressive. I haven’t had an opportunity to shoot anything until last evening. Thought I would fill my freezer with a doe. She came in to about thirty yards. I raised my shotgun and fired. She just stood there. I fired two more times and it was like I was shooting blanks. I know it was all my fault. They ran off and stayed 80 or so yards away. I didn’t bother with the fourth. Thanks for listening, I just had to vent. Happy Hunting!

Just curious…

1) I know there are others on here from Florida, right? What areas? I’m in Jacksonville.

2) Has anyone registered a Seminole Whitetail and/or a Gulf Coast Whitetail from Florida… or, am I the only one to have done so?
